Temporary Chrome Web Store issue

Install Text Zen manually

Text Zen is temporarily unavailable in the Chrome Web Store because the listing was removed. I am working to restore it. In the meantime, you can still install the extension manually from a ZIP file using Chrome's Developer Mode.

Before you start

Because this is a manual installation, Chrome may show that Developer Mode is enabled. This is expected.

How to install the extension manually

Follow these steps once. After installation, keep the unzipped folder on your computer.

Download the ZIP file

Open the Text Zen 2.4.4 release page and download the extension ZIP file.

Unzip it to a folder

Keep this folder after installation. Chrome loads the extension directly from this folder.

Open Chrome extensions

In Chrome, go to chrome://extensions.

Enable Developer mode

Turn on Developer mode in the top-right corner of the Chrome extensions page.

Click Load unpacked

Select the folder where you unzipped the extension.

Pin Text Zen

Optional: click the puzzle icon in Chrome's toolbar and pin Text Zen for easier access.

After installation

The extension should appear in your Chrome extensions list. When Text Zen is available again in the Chrome Web Store, I will send an update with the official installation link.
